Having a horse present within the therapeutic setting can offer a sense of calm. Horses by nature are prey animals, they live in the moment, they are keen observers and are very aware of movements and emotions around them.
They are excellent at reading nonverbal communication and can be acutely aware of an individual’s emotions. Using feedback from the horse can enable an individual to develop a greater understanding of self.
